Nihan de Pessôa-Pardellas was born in Istanbul, Turkey. She studied in the English High School For Girls, Beyoğlu Anatolian High School. She graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelors degree in Business Management and Organization and a Masters degree in Marketing. She also did a minor in Advertising. During her university years, in the summers she worked in Marketing and Sales in “EPE INC.”-New York, USA, where she was in charge of trading products to and from Turkey.
In 2005 she won the “Honorable Mansion Award” of the “2005 Rothschild Entrepreneurship Competition” with her “Scented Socks” Business Plan. Then, she got offers from the “Angel Investors” to actually start the business and initially sell “Scented Socks” in “Walmart” Supermarkets in Florida, U.S.A.
After the university, she stayed in Miami and worked in Fisher Island in the “Vole & Pingaro Partnership, South of Fifth Publications and Fisher Island Real Estate” initially as the Ad Sales Manager, where then she worked in the Real Estate Sales and in the Management of the Renovation Project of the units and mansions both in the island and in the Star Islands. During that time she also organized events in the Island for brands like Cartier, Ferrari and Riva when she met the Riva team at the time and got asked to represent the brand in Turkey.
After the hurricane Katrina hitting Florida in 2006, she left to Europe for a trip and accepted Riva’s offer for the exclusive distributorship of Riva Yachts in Turkey. She established Ultramar Istanbul Yachts for this mission and kept it going successfully thanks to her passion for the sea and especially for Riva Yachts. She is fluent in various languages, likes to travel and she is married.
